Who Can Join?

The Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union was founded in 1954 as Tri-County Teachers Credit Union and initially served the educators of Waller County, Fort Bend County, and Katy ISD. Since that time, the name has been changed to better describe the 13 county area of Texas which the credit union serves.

How To Join:

First, determine your eligibility by reading below. Then, email, write or call and request a Membership Packet. Membership in the BVSCU is limited to the following:

1. Employees and members of the Boards of Education of all schools and colleges (except Prairie View A & M) in the following counties: Austin, Bastrop (excluding Bastrop ISD), Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Damon ISD, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Lavaca, Lee, Milam, Waller, and Washington.

2. Employees and members of the Boards of Education of all private schools in the following counties: Austin, Bastrop, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Lavaca, Lee, Milam, Waller, and Washington.

3. Employees of the following counties: Austin, Fort Bend, Brazos, Waller and Washington.

4. Employees of the following cities: Bryan, Brookshire, College Station, Hempstead, Katy, Meadows, Missouri City, Needville, Richmond, Rosenberg, San Felipe, Stafford, Sugar Land, and Waller.

5. Employees of the following: Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, Brenham State School, Richmond State School, Fort Bend Appraisal District, Damon ISD, MHMRA of Brazos Valley, faculty, students and staff of Blinn College and Texas A & M University.

6. Persons who are receiving retirement, pension, or other benefits as a result of prior employment by any business or organization included within this field of membership.

7. Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership.

9. Persons who have retired from school districts outside this credit union's field of membership and who now reside within this credit union's field of membership as a permanent change of residence.

10. Relatives of the primary member, including spouse, children, brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, fathers-in-law, mothers-in-law, and cousins.
