Receptionist – Katy Branch Office

The primary responsibility of this position is to greet and direct members as they call or personally visit the branch office. The Branch Manager directs and supervises the work performed by this individual.

Duties include, but are not limited to: answering incoming phone calls promptly and handling the calls to effectively provide the best level of service to the member; greeting members and others as they enter the branch and direct them, as needed, to other branch employees; answering basic questions about the credit union and it’s products and services; assisting loan, new account and teller functions as needed with tasks such as scanning documents. May also be trained to operate a teller drawer in the lobby or drive-through as needed.

Education and Experience Requirement

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous experience as a phone receptionist is helpful but not required

This position is one of actual performance requiring direct contact with the general membership and providing assistance as appropriate. Excellent verbal communication skills and a pleasant/helpful personality are a must.

Membership Development Representative

This position is integral in the credit union’s efforts to retain and expand existing account relationships and acquire new members. You will help develop and implement activities and strategies that promote growth of the credit union. This position reports to the Sr. VP Administration/ Human Resources.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: develop functional relationships with school district and SEG administrative employees and systematically conduct periodic business calls on these key employees for the purpose of promoting credit union products and services, advance the credit union name in the school districts and SEGs in the credit union’s field of membership and assist with training at the branch level.

Education and Experience Requirement

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Conversational Spanish preferred
  • Previous credit union experience preferred
  • General knowledge of basic credit union philosophy and operation beneficial

Superior oral and written communication skills are required along with a high level of confidence in introducing and presenting yourself and the credit union to school teachers, staff and administrators as well as business owners and employees of local government entities. Presentations to small and large groups about credit union products and services or other financial education topics will be required.

Collector – Administrative Building, Katy, TX

This individual is responsible for the collection of past due accounts, to include repossession, safekeeping and disposition of recovered collateral within the established procedures and guidelines. The collector reports directly to the V.P. – Lending.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordinating and executing actions on past due and delinquent loans, recommending actions on collateral deemed in jeopardy, corresponding with credit card account holders concerning over-limit or delinquency issues and reporting to the President monthly the disposition of delinquent loans.

Education and Experience Requirement:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous credit union experience helpful but not required

This position requires knowledge of credit union lending and collecting policies and guidelines. Good oral and written communications skills are important as well as attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.

This individual is responsible for receiving and processing all member transactions in person, by mail or by phone. You must be accurate in handling of cash and negotiable items, enjoy working within a team and committed to providing quality service to our members. The teller reports directly to the Branch Manager with some direction from the Head Teller.

Responsibilities include: processing member transactions such as deposits and payments, handling negotiable items such as gift cards and money orders and managing a cash drawer. Some Saturday hours required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous teller experience or cash handling experience necessary

Head Teller – Saums Road Branch, Houston

This position is responsible for the supervision of teller activities in order to insure quality service to members. This responsibility extends to areas of personnel supervision requiring employee discipline only to the extent of advising the branch manager of problems relating to an employee’s conduct or performance. This individual will also function as a teller. The head teller reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Education and Experience Requirement

    Rendering decisions concerning exception items presented to tellers, assigning teller positions for maximum efficiency, providing teller training for new and existing staff, monitoring teller activities, assisting in reconciling and correcting outages, assisting with random cash audits of teller drawers, preparing reports, maintaining the inventory of travelers checks and gift cards, and all duties typical to functioning as a teller.

    Responsibilities include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year teller experience with Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union or previous head teller experience

As both a supervisor and teller this position requires knowledge of and experience with all credit union services and related policies and procedures. You must be accurate in cash handling, able to work with people and able to accept direction and responsibility.
